About
Diamonds Athuruga is an island resort in South Ari Atoll, about 25 minutes by seaplane from Malé. Rooms range from Beach Front Villas and Lagoon Villas to Beach Front Junior Suites, One Bedroom Water Villas and Two Bedroom Pool Water Villas at the end of the jetty. Dining is varied: a buffet restaurant, an overwater restaurant, Maldivian dining, a Japanese restaurant and seafood dining, plus two bars. The house reef and diving centre make it a good base for snorkellers and divers, and a resident marine biologist and the Maldives Marine Lab help you learn what you are seeing. Serena Spa and an All Inclusive plan round it off. It suits couples, divers and families who want a relaxed island with plenty of choice at mealtimes.

Maakeyn is the buffet restaurant and Thari is the overwater restaurant. Farivalhu offers Maldivian dining, Thila is the Japanese restaurant and Kakuni serves seafood. Boli Beach Bar and Thari Over Water Bar cover drinks. An All Inclusive plan is offered. Serena Spa is on the island.
Things to do
The diving centre runs dives in South Ari Atoll, and the house reef is good for snorkelling. A marine biologist and the Maldives Marine Lab share what lives on the reef.

Seaplane (Trans Maldivian Airways) from Velana International Airport in Malé, about 25 minutes.
Good to know
Children under 8 can stay in the Water Villas only with a signed parental disclaimer. The Two Bedroom Pool Water Villas sit at the end of the jetty and have a Jacuzzi.
